Awfully trendy

Looking at the Coachella festival fashions online I noticed two celebrities (Emma Roberts,Katy Perry) wearing awful see-through net dresses. This is more like something I would wear to the beach or if I was a stripper…

Lindsay Lohan as Liz Taylor?

I was astounded when I heard the news that Lindsay Lohan was chosen to play Elizabeth Taylor in some tv movie. I was just curious what you guys thought about this? It sure will be interesting is all I can say while still being polite….

Crazy Eyes

I am one of those girls that can not wear eyeshadow without looking like a drag queen, cheap whore or ….hmmm nope, those two are good enough reasons that I don’t venture into the scary endless land of eyeshadow colors. The other day I saw this crazy burger eyeshadow design and wanted to just share that and a few other designs, (especially the leopard) that I like.

IT girl- Edie Sedgwick

I know the “Edie” bandwagon has come and gone, but I still can’t help bringing her back up, she was so beautiful. I love her style, it was so carefree and unique. Also her eye make-up was fabulous!

Anything but Plane!

Just wanted to let everyone know that I’m going to Italy tomorrow! Visiting my grandmother for Christmas. So the blog is going to be quite for a few days. As soon as I can, I’ll post some new entries! I also just wanted to say thank you for everyone supporting this blog and I love hearing your feedback. I leave you for now, with some pictures of classic Hollywood stars boarding planes or just standing next to one :) People used to dress so glamorous when they traveled! (Marlene Dietrich’s coat is amazing!).

The Paper Dress

I think this is so cool and just learned about it the other day! The picture above, is of original paper dresses from the 1960′s. Then I added some photos of modern paper dress designs, mostly wedding gowns. I am so trying to make one now! Will not go out in public in it though…might get arrested for indecent exposure.

“In 1966, Scott Paper Company invented the paper dress, intended as a marketing tool. For one dollar, women could buy the dress and also receive coupons for Scott paper products. The paper dress, shapeless and unattractive, wasn’t an invention meant to be taken seriously, but women surprised the company by ordering half a million of these dresses in under a year. It might sound surprising to us, but when you remember that this was a time in history that had just gotten used to disposable cutlery, plates and diapers, this new fashion was appealing. People were demanding more convenience and instant gratification. What was more instantly gratifying than a dress you could hem yourself with only a pair of scissors, or a dress that could simply be thrown out if it got dirty?”.

Seeing RED

In keeping up with my fondness for red hair…Every winter without fail, it seems that the red coat, whatever style, whether it be pea coat or trench is back. It is such a classic look that transcends time in a way. The first photos I put are of Jackie Kennedy wearing her red coat, looking as always, amazingly stylish. Then the other pictures are modern-day celebrities/royalty and a dog :) Red is a great color to make any outfit POP, so if you’re feeling like your closet needs something classic and sexy, get a red coat!
